Pierre Ian Whitlow is a native of Newport News, Va. He is the youngest son of Pastor Bernard and Diane Whitlow. At the tender age of 5, God anointed his hands and he began to play the drums and then at age 7, he began playing the piano, following in his sibling's foot steps. It was natural for him coming from a family where his dad, in earlier years, was a professional lead guitar player for the Late Otis Redding and was a fill in for Ike and Tina Turner. His mother was a National Praise and Worship leader for the NWMA (National Women Ministers Alliance). Music was heavy in the Whitlow family.
Pierre helped to form the first gospel choir at York High School, in Yorktown, Va., where he directed, motivated and accompanied the choir. This influence and teaching then also continued at Menchville, Bethel and Woodside High Schools, all in the Hampton and Newport News areas of Virginia. He furthered his training and education in the JMU Music Theory program and has sat under some of the greatest trainers, instructors and teachers of all genre's of music. Pierre has had the privilege of working with, playing for and touring with great artist such as the late James Moore, Rance Allen, Twinkie Clark, Ki Ki Sheard, Valerie Boyd, Marcus Cole, Natalie Wilson, Greg Roberts and Soulful Celebration, Everette Mcbee, Black Street, Carl Thomas, Donald Lawrence, Trinitee 5:7, John P. Kee, Monique Walker, Terilyn Ramsey, Men of Standard, Lashuan Pace, Durance Pace, Juanita Bynum, William Murphy III and so many, many others. He is accredited for being the founder of "Divinely Appointed" and was also known as one of the youngest Professional Musicians in Virginia.
In September 2002 he was licensed into ministry at Pillars of The Word Ministries under the leadership of his father. Since then God has opened many doors for him. Currently, he is a composer, a lead vocal and the Music Director for, Gospel Male-Artist Group, "BIU" (The Brothers In Unity). He is the leader of, Gospel Vocal Sensation, "Pierre Whitlow & LEGACY". He is the owner of PW Management, a local based service for events that require professional music, event entertainment, live music, instruction or sound. PW Management manages accomplished and upcoming gospel artist in Virginia and surrounding areas. He also serves as a active member of the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA), the Virginia Educators Association (VEA), The College Music Society (CMG), The American Composers Forum, The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Pierre Whitlow travels far and near teaching music and the word of truth and, never teaching what he's heard, but rather what he knows. He is devoted to his family and has a strong testimony that displays that he is a firm conqueror. He'll gladly tell you he's STILL STANDING on any given day.
